Flora Belle Baker is my great-great-grandmother on my dad's side of the family and she is 142 years old today. She is however quite dead. Our lives overlapped a little more than 20 years and I am so sorry I never met her. Batman will be 71 in a couple of months. Older than Batman boggles my mind.
They were fighting in Palestine when I was born and still are.

There is war. What else is new. There has never been a moment in my life that there wasn't.
Even at this age I have a goal and that is to "know everything before I return to that place from whence I came".

Wizard of Oz was a love/hate movie for me as it showed every year on television. I still remember we'd run into the closet to hide whenever the witch showed up. Then we'd sneak back. To this day, my kids occasionally wonder about me when I sing "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" in the shower, with an occasional "melting" line from the movie. Kids nowadays have nothing better than "Wicked."
Thanks to all. It was a good birthday. I talked to those I love most, it was warm enough to play in the shed, wore a kilt all day, spent some quality time with SWMBO, ate too much pizza and coconut cake and drank way too much wine which was just enough.
