Old Fools Journal: Happy Birthday Princess

Happy Birthday Princess
This was taken just after her 11th birthay. Today she is twelve going on 20.
I built this for her to take home. She is my bicycle girl. I would rather ride with her than anybody. We have been riding together since she was 4.
She is not a little girl anymore
like she was then. She is one of the few that can cut me down with a smile. They number less than I can count on one hand.
We have had 10 Christmas and birthdays together. Last year she was denied until after her birthday. This year she is not supposed to phone us or answer calls from us. Her mail is intercepted. I must have done something really bad.

She brought me the revelation of Oldfool and took away the stigma of being a fool. I'm her fool and proud of it.

Please excuse a maudlin old fool but I had to do something for her birthday.

First of all, I want to wish a very happy birthday to your princess :)

Second, I want to express my sympathy for your situation such as it is. I'm at a loss as to why they would prevent you from talking to her anymore. This is quite depressing, as it's obvious that you care about her very much....

Perhaps, it would be possible for you to get her the link to this blog? Or an email address using a common ally to pass along the information? That way, it would be a one-time transaction, and your messenger would not get in trouble becuase (s)he would most likely not get caught.

In the meantime, I'll pray for a break in the clouds.

Great man, you brought tears to my eyes. Take some comfort in the knowledge that she will in time look for other great men in her life, 'cos you set that standard.

They grow up so fast. But every act of kindness you show takes on added significance. And you get to seem wise just by being an Old Fool!

Happy Birthday to your Princess. She's lovely and well on her way to being grown up. Keep your head up. The troubles you're experiencing now will pass.

I'm sorry, Oldfool.
Don't stop writing to her though. Keep it all. And one day she'll read it. And catch up with you.

Went through something real similer after the youngest daughter died of breast cancer. I know the feeling all too well. Things have eased up now, but I'm not in a position to go see her and don't know if they will ever make it down here. Hope this eases up for you to. It is the PITS!

My heart goes out to you and I hope things begin to work in your direction. They say time heals, so hopefully for you and the Princess sake, that time is near.

We too wish a Happy Birthday to the Princess.

What a cutie, better enjoy the "little girl" now cause in the blink of an eye ,she's a young lady and grown and gone off to new adventures.

Good luck finding an answer to the sudden change in the parents not allowing you more access. It may well be some misinterpreted action on her parents part. I am clueless for a cure if they won't talk to you about it.

Sounds like you didn't get a fair trail..
