I'm sorry lobster is expensive in Canada--we get it here for $4.oo/pound which I think is reasonable since I'm not the one hauling the traps in freezing temperatures.Lord Wellbournehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16871295386557996816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424256018460699447.post-46984847902206634612010-12-09T21:48:10.714-06:002010-12-09T21:48:10.714-06:00Gwen: I do that automatically. I was once a typesetting printer you know.

To All: go to the link in the post and you can see the video on the Heat Engine in it's correct configuration operating on candles. It's operating from the stove heat when it's on the stove. It's just something to look at and I must be getting simple as I can look at for hours.

Japan: one more thing about Japan 50 years ago. I found the people I dealt with to be honest. All manner of things happened like leaving an expensive camera in a bar and coming back 3 months later and finding it still there. Or leaving a large amount of money on a bar and because it was far above the normal tip finding it in an envelope the next week and returned. It was meant to be a tip and doubly so with this experience. Or how about going out of the way to make sure you were not embarrassed which was far beyond my experience in America.

I would much rather have Lobster than shrimp. I have eaten Lobster until I popped but I've never had enough. I believe I would eat the last of the species but I am weak. Shrimp is a poor substitute. SWMBO on the other hand could care less. Her thing is these puny little blue crabs that I think are a waste of time. You burn more energy than you get trying to eat the damn things. Give me a Dungeness any day.Oldfoolhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14688289425207257034noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424256018460699447.post-9819670594071023942010-12-09T21:22:44.518-06:002010-12-09T21:22:44.518-06:00... just read that last word backwards.... just read that last word backwards.Gwen Buchananhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13410235558740636534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424256018460699447.post-88267615510307816762010-12-09T21:21:15.656-06:002010-12-09T21:21:15.656-06:00You make the best things out of shrimp.. we don&#3...You make the best things out of shrimp.. we don't have them here... too cold.. but we have the Lobsters.. good but hard to get into and too expensive, so even though they live in our waters we rarely have any.

I do believe I saw some dragonflies twirling round your fire... that's where they all went ot..Gwen Buchananhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13410235558740636534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424256018460699447.post-35165759221099900822010-12-09T13:58:30.788-06:002010-12-09T13:58:30.788-06:00My father was stationed in Japan after the war and...My father was stationed in Japan after the war and again during the Korean 'conflict'. He loved the place and the people. My mother, being Austrian, had learned to let people's post-Nazi attitudes roll off her back like water on a duck. My brother and I grew up with first-hand understanding that not all people are--insert descriptive verb here--and that we are indeed more alike than dissimilar. I'm guessing the heat engine takes the heat from the fire and by turning distributes it into the room? Whether it does or not it's cool to watch. God I miss living on the Gulf Coast with all the cool and interesting food. If it's any consolation it was 9 degrees f this morning.Lord Wellbournehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16871295386557996816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424256018460699447.post-27577871470630665332010-12-08T18:45:01.134-06:002010-12-08T18:45:01.134-06:00Count me in too. It is amazing that the majority of the human race is more alike than not...but as for the leaders well, hmmm that is another story eh?
Love heat engine.
